The giclée process produces quality prints that command
a premium value in the limited edition and fine art print marketplace.
Giclée Direct manage the entire process from digital imaging
to printing. We stock a range of papers to capture the best qualities
of oil, pastel, acrylics and watercolour. All papers and inks
are archival (75+ years).
Our Giclée Process
- The original artwork is digitally photographed using a 40
mega-pixel digital back attached to a studio 5x4 camera. The
camera is also mounted with a precision lens specifically designed
for copying detailed artwork.
- Corrections are made to the digital image until a perfect
proof is obtained.
- The proof is delivered to the artist for approval.
- Giclée Direct carry out any amends requested by the
artist.
- Printing commences.
Though not always possible we prefer to work directly from the
original artwork. Alternatively, if originals cannot be delivered
to us then we can work from a high-resolution digital file or
transparency.
